J Trust Bank Distributes Humanitarian Aid to Flood-Affected Communities in Sumatra

23 Jan 2026

Sumatra, 23 January 2026 – As a form of concern for the people affected by the flood disaster in Sumatra, PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank) distributed humanitarian assistance through two strategic partners, namely the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) Indonesia and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). This support is part of J Trust Bank's commitment to support emergency handling and post-disaster recovery in the affected areas. On this occasion, each organization received a donation of ten million rupiah.

Floods and landslides that have occurred since the end of November 2025 have had a wide impact in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, with a total of 53 districts/cities affected. According to the latest situation report, the disaster affected about 3.3 million people, displaced more than 100,000 people, and caused significant damage to basic infrastructure, public facilities, health services, and clean water supply systems. This condition increases the risk of clean water, sanitation, and public health crises, especially in vulnerable groups.

Through A-PAD Indonesia, a Japanese non-profit organization that focuses on disaster management and actively collaborates with the government and local disaster authorities, J Trust Bank's assistance is focused on supporting the provision of access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for affected communities. The A-PAD program reaches a number of priority areas, especially in Central Tapanuli Regency and Sibolga City, North Sumatra, through the provision of clean water, the construction of emergency sanitation facilities, the distribution of basic necessities, and the strengthening of community resilience in the transition and recovery phases.

Meanwhile, the assistance distributed through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is aimed at supporting various disaster management activities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, including health services, clean water distribution, food and non-food assistance, psychosocial support, and environmental cleanup. PMI also mobilized volunteers, health facilities, and support facilities to reach affected communities in various evacuation sites and recovery areas.

J Trust Bank's participation in this humanitarian action is in line with the company's commitment to the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, especially in social and humanitarian aspects. Through collaboration with trusted partners, J Trust Bank hopes that the assistance provided can help ease the burden on the affected communities and support the recovery process towards a safer, healthier, and more dignified life.
