Cibulao, West Java, 30 May 2025 – PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank) has once again shown its commitment to supporting environmental sustainability through participation in the tree planting movement entitled WENANAM. This initiative was initiated by environmental activist Jerhemy Owen who managed to gather extraordinary support from the community to plant 10,000 trees in Cibulao Village, North Tugu Village, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency, West Java.
J Trust Bank is one of the collaborators who contributed to supporting this activity. The planting activity was carried out with a number of parties, including the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, WWF-Indonesia, TikTok, JEJAKIN, and PLN Nusantara Power.
Cibulao Village was chosen as the planting location because it is an upstream area of the Ciliwung River which has an important role in flood control in Jakarta and Bogor. A total of 10,000 trees were planted consisting of various types of perennials and fruits such as Pine, Damar, Mango, Jackfruit, and Coffee. These plants will protect the soil from erosion, strengthen water catchment areas, as well as support the growth of Cibulao conservation coffee – a commodity known not only for its quality, but also for its contribution to the environment.
This planting also involves the Cibulao Forest Farmers Group (KTH) which will be responsible for the tree maintenance process for the next three years. According to JEJAKIN's calculations, these trees have the potential to absorb up to 303 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) during that period.
As a banking institution committed to the principle of sustainability, J Trust Bank views this activity as a tangible form of concern for the future of the earth and future generations. Through collaboration in the WENANAM movement, J Trust Bank not only contributes to the greening of the upper reaches of the Ciliwung River, but also helps to encourage public awareness of the importance of protecting the earth.
