J Trust Bank Joins Surplus Run for Charity 2026: Every Step Feed For Children in Aceh Tamiang

08 Oct 2026

Jakarta, 4 October 2026 — J Trust Bank participated in the Surplus Run for Charity 2026, held in celebration of World Food Day at Uno Chill Spot, South Jakarta. Bringing together runners, families, communities, sponsors, and partners, the event carried a simple yet powerful message: “Every Step Feeds a Child.” More than a running event, the initiative encouraged participants to turn every kilometer into a step toward improving access to nutritious food and supporting efforts to address food insecurity, particularly among children in Aceh Tamiang.

Initiated by Surplus in 2025, the Surplus Charity Run reflects its commitment to advancing children's right to access healthy and nutritious food. In 2026, the initiative returned with a stronger call for collective action through a 5K Charity Run and a 2.5K Charity Walk. What began as a Sunday morning activity became an opportunity for people from different backgrounds to move together, connect with one another, and contribute to a greater social purpose.

For J Trust Bank, participation went beyond sponsorship. The Bank's leadership and representatives actively joined the event, demonstrating that social responsibility is strengthened when it is supported through direct participation. At approximately 6:30 a.m., Mr. Ritsuo Fukadai, President Director of J Trust Bank, together with Mr. Sandiaga Uno, Surplus Advisor, officially flagged off the Surplus Run for Charity 2026. The flag-off was more than a ceremonial moment. It represented J Trust Bank's commitment to taking meaningful action in support of children's nutrition and well-being, while encouraging broader community participation in addressing food insecurity. The morning continued with J Trust Bank Management and representatives taking part in the 5K Charity Run. Mr. Masayoshi Kobayashi, Mr. Saptono Irawan, Mr. Elia Tobing, and Mr. Habib Ubaidillah joined as J Trust Bank runners, demonstrating that positive social impact can begin with a simple decision to show up, participate, and move together. Following the route through South Jakarta—from Sisingamangaraja and Trunojoyo to Wolter Monginsidi, Gunawarman, and Senopati—each step carried the same purpose: running not only for personal health, but also for the well-being of children who need support.

As part of its CSR support, J Trust Bank contributed IDR 50 million before tax to Foodbank of Indonesia (FOI) to support food assistance for children and communities in need. Foodbank of Indonesia is a non-profit organization committed to addressing hunger and food insecurity in Indonesia through initiatives such as food redistribution, community kitchens, school-based programs, and disaster response, with a particular focus on vulnerable communities, including children. Its mission, “Everyone Deserves Food,” closely reflects the values behind the Surplus Run for Charity initiative. Through this collaboration, the message “Every Step Feeds a Child” extended beyond the running track. It became a commitment to transform movement into support, participation into contribution, and a one-day event into meaningful social impact.

The event also provided an opportunity for J Trust Bank to strengthen community engagement while introducing its banking products to event participants. The J Trust Bank Branches introduced the TORA Special Savings Account, offering an initial deposit requirement of IDR 30,000 together with a promotional gift of two liters of cooking oil. The activation successfully generated new customer accounts. The result demonstrated how a CSR initiative can create value beyond social contribution—providing a platform for the Bank to engage directly with communities, strengthen financial inclusion, and introduce relevant banking solutions to potential customers.

The event concluded with an appreciation ceremony for the sponsors and partners who contributed to making the Surplus Run for Charity 2026 possible. Representing J Trust Bank Management, Mr. Felix Hartadi, Director, received an appreciation plaque alongside other sponsors and partners. The recognition represented more than sponsorship. It reflected the collective contribution of everyone who came early in the morning, put on their running shoes, and chose to dedicate their time and energy to a cause greater than themselves.

For J Trust Bank, participation in the Surplus Run for Charity 2026 reflects the Bank's commitment to child welfare, healthy and active lifestyles, community engagement, financial inclusion, and sustainable social impact. The initiative demonstrated that meaningful change does not always begin with a grand gesture. Sometimes, it begins with a single step. And when thousands of steps come together, they can become something much greater—a movement that helps ensure children have access to the food and nutrition they deserve.

Every Step Feeds a Child. Every Step Creates Impact. Together, We Run for a Brighter Future.
