J Trust Bank and Timedoor Academy Collaboration Provides Inclusive IT Education for Orphans and Dhuafa Children

Karangasem, Bali, April 27 April, 2025 - PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank), part of J Trust Co., Ltd – a trusted Japanese financial company – collaborates with Timedoor Academy in a CSR program entitled ”IT Education Training for Orphans and Dhuafa Children” for 15 children aged 7 – 18 years in Seraya Timur village, Karangasem sub-district, Karangasem regency, Bali.

This program aims to provide inclusive information technology (IT) education for children who have limitations, both from economic factors and infrastructure in their residential areas.

Together with Timedoor Academy, a startup developer of educational technology applications that focuses on education, as a CSR implementation partner, J Trust Bank will carry out several interventions, namely (1) organizing Training of Trainers (TOT) for local teachers in the form of technical and pedagogical training until they are certified as IT teachers; (2) Timedoor Academy will provide a Learning Management System (LMS) and digital learning materials; and (3) intensive face-to-face training every week for 15 participants adjusted to their education level, namely elementary, junior high, and high school for 12 months.

President Director of J Trust Bank, Ritsuo Fukadai said, ”As one of the companies with Japanese ownership in Indonesia, J Trust Bank realizes the importance of system and technology development as one of the pillars of human life in the future. Through this program, J Trust Bank is committed to providing inclusive information technology literacy for the next generation of Indonesia.”

At the opening of the program as well as the first IT Education class, CEO of Timedoor Academy, Yutaka Tokunaga, conveyed a deep impression, ”I was very impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the children during the introduction to coding workshop in Seraya Village. The children showed great enthusiasm when facing various coding challenges given by their mentors. Armed with familiarity with games on smartphones, they quickly understood how to give commands to the characters they created. Despite initially facing challenges due to limited digital literacy, their enthusiasm did not wane. Highly motivated, these children are determined to study intensively for the next 12 months, with a big dream: one day they can create their own games, just like the games they have been playing.”

”Seeing that spirit, we believe that every child has the potential to not only be a technology user, but also a creator. Through this program, we want to transform technology users into creators and help them build a bright future through information technology,” continued Yutaka Tokunaga.

With the spirit of ”Create a Bright Future for the Next Generation with IT Education”, this cooperation is expected to be a sustainable collaborative model between the business world and educational institutions in order to expand access to information technology literacy throughout Indonesia.
