Jakarta, 26 Juni 2024 – Badan Bank Tanah signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank) and PT J Trust Consulting Indonesia for the utilization of one of Badan Bank Tanah’s lands located in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), East Kalimantan Province
Through this memorandum of understanding, J Trust Consulting Indonesia is appointed as a partner of Badan Bank Tanah, with an exclusive mandate to introduce and handle Japanese investors who will invest in Badan Bank Tanah’s land management rights (HPL) area. Meanwhile, J Trust Bank will support the Japanese investors in the financial aspect.
Chief of Executive Board Badan Bank Tanah, Parman Nataatmadja welcomed the signing of the MoU with J Trust Consulting Indonesia and J Trust Bank. This collaboration will further strengthen the already well-established economic relations between Indonesia and Japan.
"We sincerely hope that Japan will become a partner that invests in Indonesia, particularly in the Badan Bank Tanah’s HPL. This aligns with our efforts to create inclusive cooperation and provide broader economic benefits for the Indonesian people, especially those in and around our HPL areas," said Parman.
The HPL of Badan Bank Tanah that is currently being developed is the Penajam Eco City project located in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU), East Kalimantan Province. This area is one of the Land Bank Agency's land inventory assets out of a total of 18,758 Ha throughout Indonesia.
The eco city concept offers a healthy, environmentally friendly, and sustainable city. This concept promotes returning to nature and conserving energy, encouraging cities to create as much green open space as possible, and balancing urban management in terms of environmental, economic, natural resource, and human aspects. An eco city not only expands green spaces and is energy efficient but also pays attention to the behavior of its inhabitants.
"We want to participate in creating justice in the land sector and creating an equitable economy in PPU, but we cannot do it alone. That's why we are partnering with J Trust Consulting Indonesia and J Trust Bank to invite Japanese investors to invest there and in our other HPLs in the future. Creating jobs and becoming a beacon for economic growth in Indonesia. So that both countries can become the driving force of Asia's economic progress," he said.
Badan Bank Tanah is a special agency established by the central government and authorized to ensure the availability of land in the framework of an equitable economy for the public interest, social interest, national development interest, economic equality, land consolidation, and agrarian reform.
President Director of J Trust Consulting Indonesia, Takeshi Ikeda explained "J Trust Consulting Indonesia is present in Indonesia to provide consulting services such as business matching and marketing by utilizing the knowledge and experience of the global J Trust Group.
Through this MoU with Badan Bank Tanah, we can contribute to Indonesia's economy and support the construction of the new capital city as well as the development of economic programs and activities of Japanese investors."
J Trust Bank as a financial institution that is part of this MoU is ready to provide support in the form of Japanese standard banking services such as financing to investors through its 46 branch offices spread across major cities in Indonesia.
