J Trust Bank Supports the Palliative Care to Improve the Quality of Life for Paediatrics Patients in Indonesia

Friday, July 30, 2021, signing National Children's Day falls every July 23, J Trust Bank handed over several aids and palliative care education books to Rachel House, a non-governmental organization working in the field of children's health. Founded in 2006, Rachel House has pioneered pediatric palliative care in Indonesia for children living with serious and life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, HIV AIDS, and rare diseases that come from underprivileged families.

 

Palliative care is a treatment for a patient and his family who have an incurable disease, by maximizing the patient's quality of life and reducing disturbing symptoms, reducing pain by paying attention to psychological and spiritual aspects in the rest of the patient's life.

 

On this occasion, JTrust Bank assisted in the form of providing educational books for nurse who volunteering at Rachel House, entitled "Palliative Care a Handbook for Nurses" and "A Very Practical Guide to Child Palliative Care" author by Justin Amery. In addition, J Trust Bank also assists  of basic needs for pediatric patients and distributed a mascot doll named Toby to all patients treated by Rachel House. Toby is a witty-faced tiger doll who is happy to help and always respects each individual.
