Jakarta, January 15, 2025 – PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank) received the Padmamitra Award DKI Jakarta 2024 in the Economic Empowerment category. This award was given for J Trust Bank’s contribution through a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program entitled ‘Enhancing the Capacity of Environmentally Friendly Women Home-based Entrepreneurs’.
Padmamitra Award 2024, initiated by the DKI Jakarta CSR Forum, is an awarding event for business entities that have demonstrated superior performance in the fields of economic empowerment, environment and social welfare, including infrastructure and culture.
The Award was presented by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, to the EVP Human Capital & Corporate Secretary of J Trust Bank, Ong Pey Fang at the Great Hall, DKI Jakarta City Hall. This event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Jabo Priyono.
J Trust Bank’s flagship program, Capacity Building of Environmentally Friendly Product Entrepreneurs for Women Home-based Businesses was first implemented in 2021 to respond to the economic problems caused by COVID-19. The existence of social restrictions has reduced the demand for sewing services from the public to home-based tailors, resulting in socio-economic problems for families.
The Environmentally Friendly Product Entrepreneurial Capacity Building Program for Women Home Business Actors is designed so that home-based tailors, especially women tailors, remain empowered, producing by utilizing existing resources even during social restrictions.
The substance of the program is (1) the creative process of processing fabric/textile waste (leftover materials from sewing orders); (2) training in sewing techniques for recycled fabric products; (3) building networks with the sustainable fashion ecosystem; (4) learning to run an environmentally responsible business; and (5) financial education.
Focusing on integrated entrepreneurship education, the Environmentally Friendly Product Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Program for Women Home Business Actors from 2021 to 2024 has trained 130 women home-based tailors with full support from the Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Offices of the Central and South Jakarta City Governments, JakPreneur, and Setali Indonesia.
EVP Human Capital & Corporate Secretary of J Trust Bank, Ong Pey Fang, said, “We really appreciate the DKI Jakarta CSR Forum and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for the award and trust in J Trust Bank. We always carry out the company’s CSR as an important part of the company’s business and operations with the involvement of various stakeholders. We believe that the economic empowerment program is one of J Trust Bank’s efforts in taking real action to realize the social welfare of the community.”
The General Chair of the DKI Jakarta CSR Forum, Aldi Imam Wibowo, stated that this award aims to encourage the spirit of business entities in creating CSR programs that are innovative, sustainable, and have a positive impact on society.
